Brand new technology which permits both iPhones and iPods alike to recieve streaming music is starting to take the lead it would seem. Sports talk shows may liekwise be received and all at absoltely no cost for the listener. These internet-based feeds are now gaining in popularity.
Pandora and Last fm, along with AOL Radio may stream this music onto iphones which is adapted to the individual’s particular tastes.
Slacker is another internet radio provider which streams the music in question onto BlackBerries. Research in Motion uses this technology to enable outside applications onto the smart phone to bring about more attention to the smart phone marketplace. With the slacker application, for example, you may store and use the music you like all from the music channels that you specifically create.
As mentioned in previous articles here, new Google Android software technology will also be offering new ways of accessing the music that you prefer. The new Google phones should to be out very soon, according to various media reports.
This is all good news to those who are tired of downloading and paying for their listening music. There area few drawbacks though. The problems to be solved are how to pay the artists and those who produce and license the songs. It is not sure if advertisements can be added to provide the revenue or not. There are some big items being introduced according to a press event held by the Apple Corporation and their CEO Steve Jobs in San Francisco. This new line is being called “Lets Rock,” and they have also reduced the cost of the iPod Touch. During this Bay area event he also made public the new Nano video player, which is both thinner than the other Nano models as well as having a feature for the screen to change from vertical to horizontal depending on the why it is being held. The Nano will shuffle the play list by being shaken and there is also a brand new service for the Nano named Genius to recommend music and movies based on the users interests. The new Nano is 8 gigabyte and is being priced at the same price as the original model was and they now have storage capacity up to 16 gigabytes.
These new models will be coming out with a different type of headphone than the earbuds, these will sport in-ear headphones and the battery life has also improved with 24 hours of music and 6 hours of video.
Other things that have changed are the iPod classic that has 120 gigabytes of space that can hold as much as 30,000 songs. The iTouch that resembles the iPhone and the volume control has been made easier to adjust; there are an 8, 16 and 32 gigabyte choice with the iTouch. This comes on the heels of numerous new announcements concerning the iPhone at Demofall including Echo Nest, Rudder, SkyData and Telnic, among others. The popular iPhones have competition from other phones that are being dubbed as clones. The Apple iPhone has a few things that could have been improved upon before they were released into the market. The clones have improved those flaws and are not out in tough competition with the iPhone.
One of the big drawbacks with the iPhone is that you are locked into the AT&T network. All the original iPhones are locked so you can’t change the carrier. Some clones can be found with improved touch screens that you shake and tilt. Shaking the phone will enable you to change whatever media you are using really fast. You just shake the phone to advance to the next medium you want to use. Tilting the phone is useful when watching a movie or video clip because it will quickly change from a landscape mode to portrait or vice versa.
One clone with the shake and tilt screen is the HiPhone. It is selling for around $140 and you can find them in many retail stores. Only time will tell how many clones will be available for cell phone addicts.
